Miho Shinohara is a carefree third-grader with a passion for manga. Her life takes a magical turn when she meets Mogu and Pigu - two lost fairies who are disguised as stuffed animals. The duo offers to stay at her home until they can find a way back to their own world, and in return, they gift Miho with a sketch pad and pencil that wield special powers. Whenever she sketches on them, her artwork turns real. Moreover, Miho can morph into Lala, an enchanting teenage girl who she has drawn in her comics. Her life changes dramatically when Lala is discovered by a talent agency, and she embarks on a journey from being a regular schoolgirl to a model and ultimately, an idol singer.
