Initially, Noriyasu appears to be an ordinary child in third grade, but his life takes an unexpected turn when he discovers his mother reading his confidential journal. In order to surprise her, he creates absurd and imaginative stories about peculiar occurrences, such as a gigantic snake residing in the restroom, cooking pencils for supper, and a downpour of pigs. Unexpectedly, his stories begin manifesting in reality, with everyone else believing them to be ordinary happenings. The turmoil intensifies when he attempts to fabricate breaking news stories, which become the subject of much discussion about town, ultimately leading to a catastrophic swine-themed holiday.
