In 2014, tragedy befell Akira Natsume as he slipped into a coma that lasted for a staggering 16 years. Upon awakening, he found himself in an entirely new reality, his consciousness transplanted into a cutting-edge machine complete with a highly advanced user interface. This new world introduces him to police officer Minami Uezono and her android partner Alma, who inform him that his brain has been implanted into a devastating weapon known as the EX-ARM. Despite their unlikely alliance, the trio must escape a smuggler ship deep within enemy territory and survive using their combined combat abilities and quick wits. Initially reluctant to fight, Akira gains inspiration from his brother and discovers a newfound sense of purpose. Taking command of Alma's body, he unleashes martial arts moves on the attacking foes. When Akira accesses one of the essential ports of the vessel, he realizes the significant power of his EX-ARM by effortlessly breaking into the ship's systems. After returning to safety, Akira joins the EX-ARM Countermeasure Prevention Team, a police force aimed at preventing the dangerous repercussions of EX-ARMS. Observing the horrific acts that people commit to acquire the power of these weapons, he makes it his mission to end the terror induced by them.
