In 1983, Akutsu Jouji, a member of the Kaeda Yakuza gang, was defeated in a clash with a university cheering squad. He pleaded for forgiveness in tears, but his life took a downward turn from there. A decade later in 1993, Jouji's friend was instructed to take his life. As he fled, Jouji ended his own life, consumed by despair. Suddenly, Jouji finds himself in Shinjuku once again, transported back to the fateful brawl with the university students. Armed now with ten years' worth of memories and wisdom, Jouji shows resilience and bravery, repelling the students with ease. Taking a vow to proudly wear a gold emblem throughout the town, Jouji begins to rebuild his life.
