Seeking aid from the Dragon Balls to repair the ruined forest, the group of friends was disrupted by an unidentified group of fighters who planted a seed at the scene of the accident. The resulting growth was a massive tree that wreaked havoc on the area, damaging the forest and nearby cities. In the commotion, North Kaio cautioned Gokuu Son about the Shinseiju, a ravenous tree that consumed all of Earth's crucial nutrients, leaving a desolate, barren wasteland. Additionally, the Shinseiju held the power to grant immense strength to any who ate its fruit. Time slipping away, Gokuu and his allies journeyed to eradicate the Shinseiju, but the task was far more formidable than they had anticipated.
