Lord Daigo Kagemitsu, a samurai driven by greed, is willing to do anything for power - even if it means turning his back on Buddha and making a deal with evil demons. In exchange for aiding the growth of his prefecture, 12 demons grant Kagemitsu the power he seeks, but it comes at a high price. When Kagemitsu's first-born son is born without limbs, a nose, eyes, ears, or skin, he is cast into a river and abandoned. Miraculously, the child is rescued by a medicine man who provides him with prosthetics and weapons, allowing him to survive on his own. Although blind, deaf, and unable to feel, the child must defeat the demons who used him as a sacrifice, and with each victory, he recovers a piece of himself. For years, he roams alone until he meets an orphan named Dororo, and together they fight for survival and humanity in a world infested by demons.
