The region nicknamed Hole lives up to its name, as it is a gloomy, chaotic place where the strong prey on the weak and death is commonplace. Law and ethics are absent, making it a testing ground for the magic users who dominate it. These individuals, occupying the highest echelons of society, consider the inhabitants of Hole as nothing more than insects. The defenseless residents are killed, mutilated, and subjected to experiments with no regard for their well-being, resulting in their remains littering the hospital. Magic users have complete access to and from Hole, ruling over its residents with little resistance, save for a few, including Kaiman. He is more reptile than man and relentlessly pursues the magic users in an effort to uncover the truth about his cursed appearance and the nightmarish dreams that torment him. With only his bayonets and immunity to magic, Kaiman is determined to regain a normal life, despite his constant hunger. He is aided by Nikaidou, the owner of the Hungry Bug restaurant, and they both struggle to survive in this grim, demonic world. Dorohedoro is a series that strikes a balance between humor and violence, set in a bleak world with an otherworldly origin. It follows the lives of the Hole residents, with unexpected twists and turns, leading them down a path of despair. This story is not for the faint of heart or those who are easily disturbed.
