Nobita attempts to provide evidence of the existence of the Monkey King by traveling to the time when Sanzo was embarking on his pilgrimage. Doraemon utilizes a virtual video game console to outfit Nobita in the Monkey King's attire for "Journey to The West." Despite their efforts, Nobita fails in his quest to prove the Monkey King's existence. During the game, Nobita and friends do not encounter any demons. However, they return to their world to discover that it is overpowered by demonic forces. Unbeknownst to them, Doraemon had inadvertently left the game console open in the past, which caused the demons to invade their world. Incredibly, they must return to the past to eliminate the demons and restore peace.
