Kei and Yuri were initially employed as junior auxiliary agents in the Worlds Works and Welfare Agency or 3WA. However, due to Kei's history of getting into trouble, she was on her fourth probation, and Yuri's dating habits had become public knowledge. To make matters worse, the two had an immediate dislike for each other upon meeting and were paired together under the alias "Lovely Angels." Kei initially resigned from the 3WA, and both women refused to work together. Nevertheless, they eventually began collaborating again, earning the moniker "the Dirty Pair" due to their tendency to cause unintentional damage while handling assignments. Despite now being on good terms, Kei and Yuri still squabble and gripe with each other. Though often believed to be a younger version of the initial Lovely Angels, this series represents an alternative universe of Dirty Pair, taking place in 2248-49.
