The latest installment of Digimon Xros Wars, called Toki wo Kakeru Shounen Hunter-tachi, picks up after the defeat of Bagramon and his cohorts. Taiki Kudou and Yuu Amano have now dedicated themselves to basketball, having emerged victorious from their fateful battle. Together with Yuu's classmate, Tagiru Akashi, they have formed a strong team and are working hard to improve their skills on the court. One day, Tagiru discovers a strange space called the DigiQuartz that exists between the human and digital realms. This area is the setting for a new competition called the 'Digimon Hunt,' where children from all over the world use Xros Loaders to partner with Digimon and capture as many as they can. However, trouble arises when some Digimon start feeding on negative emotions from humans who are leaking into the DigiQuartz. These Digimon become stronger but also more aggressive, which puts the human world in danger. The Digimon Hunters band together to prevent chaos from breaking out, and they are joined by Gumdramon, a troublesome Digimon who partners with Tagiru to become the best Digimon Hunter. As the Digimon Hunt progresses, the young Hunters begin to uncover a sinister force behind the DigiQuartz. Their challenges become even tougher, and Taiki and Yuu's experiences with Digimon in the past start to resurface. It becomes clear that the Digimon Hunt is more than just a fun game – there is a deeper significance and a greater purpose that they must discover.
