Following the conclusion of the Adventure series, this film takes the viewer on a thrilling adventure as a never-before-seen Digimon egg materializes on the internet and penetrates virtually every computer network in Japan. Once the elusive egg hatches, a Virus-type Digimon emerges, surviving off stolen data from various systems and wreaking havoc across the nation. As it consumes more data, this digital creature continues to evolve, prompting Taichi and Koushiro to take action and put an end to its destructive rampage. With Agumon and Tentomon dispatched through the internet to confront the novel adversary, the heroes soon realize that the Virus has gained control over critical systems, including the US military. What was once perceived as a mere digital threat quickly becomes a very real, tangible danger. In a bid to halt the spread of this peril, Yamato and Takeru are enlisted to aid the rescue mission. Together, the group sets out to prevent the unleashing of a catastrophe, potentially saving the world from utter destruction once again.
