Meiko Mochizuki is filled with horror as she witnesses her Digimon partner, Meicoomon, fall under the influence of evil and transform into the destructive Meicrackmon. In a bid to cause chaos elsewhere, Meicrackmon begins to disrupt the Digital World, causing it to shun Meiko and other Chosen Children. The group embarks on a journey in pursuit of a way to return home while facing dangerous enemies. While all this unfolds, a messenger from the mysterious entity Homeostasis makes a visit to Meiko's father and Daigo Nishijima of the Incorporated Administrative Agency, seeking to uncover the origins of Meicoomon. To the Chosen Children's dismay, the messenger reveals that Homeostasis intends to eliminate the digital creature to prevent more Digimon from appearing in the human world, disregarding their opinions in the process.
