On the day of the Tanabata festival, Shidou Itsuka meets Kurumi Tokisaki, who surprisingly asks him out on a date. Despite feeling nervous, Shidou agrees and they spend the day exploring a planetarium, indulging in festival treats, and even trying out a mock wedding. Meanwhile, Shidou's friends Tohka Yatogami, Yoshino, and Kotori Itsuka search for him while enjoying the festivities. Throughout the day, Shidou discovers a gentle side to Kurumi, who is known as the "Worst Spirit." Despite her infamous reputation, she shows him unexpected tenderness. However, as the day comes to an end, Shidou begins to unravel the truth behind her behavior.
