Humanity's expansion throughout the galaxy in 2071 hasn't eliminated the constant threat of crime. Murder, drug abuse, and theft remain issues affecting the new societies on other planets. A group of tough bounty hunters, charged with capturing intergalactic outlaws, is on the rise. Spike Spiegel and Jet Black are among these bounty hunters, making a living by scouring the universe in pursuit of criminals. While Spike may appear indifferent and gullible, he carries the burden of his violent past, and Jet is grappling with his painful memories, all while taking care of Spike and their ship, the Bebop. Faye Valentine, a beautiful con artist, Edward Wong Hau Pepelu Tivrusky IV, an unusual ally, and Ein, a bioengineered Welsh Corgi, complete the Bebop crew. As they grow closer and track down various criminals, Spike's former actions come back to haunt them all. A frenzied enemy sets out to destroy them, forcing Spike to either seek vengeance for his past trauma or embrace his newfound family.
