Momoko's third-grade teacher instructs the class to create an illustration based on their favorite tune to compete in a contest. Drawing inspiration from a recent music class discovery, Momoko eagerly endeavors to craft a winning masterpiece. While en route to visit her relatives in Shizuoka, she encounters Shouko Kimura, a university student who occasionally sketches portraits at the local train station, and who also intends to enter an art competition. Intrigued by Kimura's captivating artwork, Momoko arranges a second meeting. Kimura is smitten with Momoko's compassion and integrity, and the two form a fast friendship, mutually inspiring each other in their respective artistic pursuits.
