Although most young girls try to highlight their feminine charms, Futaba Yoshioka intentionally exhibits behavior that would repel anyone who is attracted to her. In middle school, she was shunned by her female classmates for being too popular with boys. Consequently, in high school, she is overly noisy and clumsy to avoid a repetition of her former misfortune.
Despite her unpleasant memories, Futaba treasures the moments she spent with her former crush, Kou Tanaka. However, their relationship ended sourly when Kou stopped attending school. Upon finding out that Kou has returned with a different last name, Futaba feels the butterflies in her stomach. But the new Kou Mabuchi is not the warm boy she remembers; he is taller, more withdrawn, and charismatic, making him unapproachable.
Futaba believes that if she returns to her past behavior, Kou will pay attention to her again. But she must be ready to forfeit her normalcy bubble and risk losing her friends in the process.
