Yatora Yaguchi, a second-year high school student, is a gifted troublemaker who lacks motivation to find his true purpose in life. Despite his academic prowess, Yatora spends his days simply maintaining his grades and hanging out with his lazy friends, both of which fail to bring him any genuine happiness. As Yatora contemplates his situation, he gazes upon the stunning scenery of Shibuya, which he finds difficult to capture with words. Inspired to express his feelings through art, Yatora picks up a paintbrush and creates a stunning masterpiece, which earns him widespread praise. Filled with a newfound sense of fulfillment, he embarks on a journey to gain acceptance to Tokyo University of the Arts, renowned for its rigorous selection process that only admits one out of every two hundred applicants. Dealing with numerous challenges such as facing talented competitors, unfamiliarity with fine arts, and seeking approval from his parents, Yatora is forced to confront his fears and overcome them. With his sights set on securing one of the coveted five spots in his desired program, Yatora must prove that his lack of experience doesn't define him.
