This piece explores the life of Megumi Sunahara, a brave member of the Japanese People's Liberation Army, and sheds light on a lesser-known division of the organization. Originally from Kyushu, Japan, Megumi and his family moved to Northeast China when he was a child. However, after Japan's defeat and subsequent surrender, returning to Japan was not an option for Megumi, and he instead found himself tending cattle on a landlord's property in Liaoning. In 1948, he assumed the name "Zhang Rongqing" and joined the People's Liberation Army, fighting in battles such as Liaoshen and Pingjin while dedicating himself to the working-class revolution.
