The Ghost of Icarus, a group of activists, has launched an attack against the colossal Daedalus Group. Amid the chaos of a bombing, Black Jack encounters Death Incarnate - or Dr. Kiriko - who charges patients hefty fees for a painless death instead of healing them. The Ghost of Icarus approaches both doctors for collaboration, but Black Jack finds himself trapped in a dangerous cycle of life, death, and treachery while striving to save his patients and avoid a biological catastrophe that could destroy humanity.
