In Kushiro, Hokkaido, during 199X A.D., a terrible incident unfolds as three Dragonite bodies wreak havoc on the city with their overwhelming destructive force. As they unleash chaos, the evil Jashin Drago is freed from the holy seal he has been trapped in. Two centuries ago, Drago was confined by a holy warrior bearing a tattooed Liger mark, believed to have passed away. Without any obstacle in their path, Drago and Empress Zara amass a biomechanical beast army to conquer the Earth. Even the Japan Self-Defense Forces are unable to contend against the Dragonites' incredible power, and many flee for their lives, including the protagonist Ken Taiga, a timid sixteen-year-old boy. However, unbeknownst to the Dragonites, Ken learns that he is the descendant of the Liger warrior. In a burst of fury, Ken's Liger birthmark surfaces as he raises his palm to the sky and bellows the henshin command, "LIGER!!!", which envelops him in long-haired demonic biomechanical armor. Transformed into Jushin Liger, Ken wages a fierce battle against the evil forces of the Dragonite.
