Humanity is under attack by a lethal virus called "Algernon" and Akamatsu Industries, a covert organization posing as a heavy machinery factory in Tokyo, is leading the charge against it. Armed with neural-enhanced weapons dubbed NeuroNoids, they engage Algernon on the frontlines. Aiding them in their clandestine operations is an enigmatic mutant known solely as "Betterman."
