Berserk takes place in a setting reminiscent of Medieval Europe, where the story of revenge unfolds within the walls of Midland's castle town. The town has recently fallen under the tyrannical reign of a malevolent king who employs demonic creatures to subjugate and abuse his populace. As the injustice continues unabated, a solitary warrior enters the town, donning black armor and carrying an arsenal of weapons. His arrival signals to many that the king's cruel reign is soon to end. The Black Swordsman wastes no time in tracking down and eliminating the king's maleficent followers, showing no mercy, and planning to avenge himself against the despot ruler.
