The title of the OAV Battle Skipper (1995), directed by Takashi Watanabe, is deceiving as it is not a feature film. The storyline revolves around the downfall of the Etiquette Club at St. Ignacio's School for Girls. These girls have to don scantily clad attire to operate modern military mecha called Battle Skippers. Known as "Extars," they fight against Sayaka, the unpleasant and wealthy leader of the Debutante Club, and her loyal subordinate, Todo, to thwart their odd plans. The show aims to promote a line of Tomy robot toys and may attract those who enjoy absurd high school conflicts turned into violent skirmishes involving advanced satellite weaponry.
